Natura Docet, Denekamp
August 2, 2016
The new name is Natura Docet Wonderryck Twente. Natura Docet means Nature Educates, and the museum has been founded by teacher (Meester) Bernink in 1911. Some of his original rooms are still intact, and are filled with hundreds of splendidly stuffed animals from all around the world. There's an amazing amount of animals to see, from very tiny to very large. Including an Apus (that we call Bird of Paradise) and an Alligator skin.
Asking Riya if she liked the museum she answered: "It was like stepping into an adventure book. It was almost as if I was there where the animals lived."
One of the cool attractions is The Funky Forest, where you can build your own forest (projected) by moving your body in front of the large screen. I liked it very much, and suppose children will love it too.
I've never seen so many butterflies in so many different appearances. Unfortunatelly they are all dead.
